प्रश्न 1. नीचे दिए गए अनजाने (unseen) अनुच्छेद को पढ़ो और इसके उत्तर दो:–
In cities, many people believe that progress means growth: we build more, more quickly, bigger. In villages, people often see economic progress differently: they see it in relationships, they see it in the strength of their community. Both cities and villages have their own idea of what progress means. But whichever path is chosen, it must be sustainable — meeting today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s.

Water is essential for all life forms. Without water, humans, animals, and plants cannot survive. Yet, many places in the world are experiencing water scarcity. Reasons include increased demand, climate change, and mismanagement. Wasteful use of water in domestic, agricultural, and industrial sectors adds to the problem. Rainwater harvesting, water recycling, and efficient irrigation can help conserve water.

a) Hornbill पाठ्यपुस्तक में “The Voice of the Rain” कविता से निस्पंदित विषयों पर चर्चा कीजिए, जैसे कि प्रकृति की भूमिका, जीवन में वर्षा का महत्व, तथा मानवीय अनुभव।
b) Snapshots की कहानी “The Tale of Melon City” में व्यंग्य (satire) का प्रयोग कैसे किया गया है? इसमें किन-किन सामाजिक बिन्दुओं की आलोचना हुई है?
आंतरिक मूल्यांकन (Internal Assessment) — 20 अंक

- Speaking Skills: 5 अंक
- Project Work: 10 अंक
